HOPE VERSES

(Psalm 31:24) Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the LORD.

(Psalm 33:18-22) Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness, To deliver their soul from death And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in Him, Because we trust in His holy name. Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, According as we have hoped in You.

(Psalm 38:15) For I hope in You, O LORD; You will answer, O Lord my God.

(Psalm 42:5) Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.

(Psalm 42:11) Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

(Psalm 62:5-8) My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation,My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

(Psalm 71:14) But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.

(Psalm 119:49-50) Remember the word to Your servant, In which You have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, That Your word has revived me.

(Psalm 130:5) I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.

(Psalm 130:7) Hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption.

(Psalm 146:5-10) How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, Who made heaven and earth, The sea and all that is in them; Who keeps faith forever; Who executes justice for the oppressed; Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free. The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous; The LORD protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked.

(Proverbs 23:18) Surely there is a future, And your hope will not be cut off.

(Jeremiah 14:22) Are there any among the idols of the nations who give rain? Or can the heavens grant showers? Is it not You, O LORD our God? Therefore we hope in You, For You are the one who has done all these things.

(Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

(Jeremiah 31:17) “There is hope for your future,” declares the LORD,

(Lamentations 3:21-25) This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.

(Romans 5:1-5) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

(Romans 8:24-25) For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

(Romans 12:9-12) Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer…

(Romans 15:4) For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

(Romans 15:13) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

(2 Corinthians 1:7-11) …our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings, so also you are sharers of our comfort. For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction…that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.

(Galatians 5:5) For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.

(Philippians 1:19-20) …for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

(2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

(Hebrews 3:6) but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house — whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.

(Hebrews 6:11-12) And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

(Hebrews 6:18-20) …we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us,

(Hebrews 10:23) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful…

(1 Peter 1:3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…

(1 Peter 1:13)  Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

  18. Thank you for sharing all the hope verses. Psalm 31:24 is a particular favorite of mine and one I wrote about on my blog in my story Courage and Strength. I compare it to and think it is similar to Phil 4:13, my life verse, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
